REID, ALLIE GOOCH 88, of 2331 Valley Road, widow of D.S. Reid, will be conducted at 3:30 pm today at the home by Elder W.C. King.
Burial will be in Forsyth Memorial Park. The body is at the home. Mrs. Reid died Tuesday at City Hospital. She attended Greensboro
college and came to Winston-Salem in 1912. Her husband was the owner of Reid China Store. She was one of the developers of
Forsyth Memorial Park. She was a member of Gooch Memorial Primitive Baptist Church at Stem. Surviving is a stepson, David S. Reid,
Jr. of Dallas, Tex, and a grandchild. The body is at Voglers Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.

REAVIS, Mrs. Rose Overton Parks Reavis, formerly of 409 Arbor Road, died Thursday at Radford Community Hospital in Radford,
Va. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 pm at Vogler's Reynolda Road Chapel with burial in Forsyth Memorial park. Mrs. Reavis was
born in Axton, va to Granville Lee and Sally Bet Overton. She was a member of Home Moravian Church, and was a graduate of City
Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and practiced nursing for a number of years. Mrs Reavis was a member of the Dental Auxiliary and
the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was twice married; first to Dr. Claude Parks, who died in 1953, and secondly to Carl C.
Reavis, who died in 1974. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Furrow of Radford, Va., Mrs. Hatha Spenser of Inglewood, Cal.,
Mrs. Sue Carter of Chatam, Va., and Mrs. Virginia Quatrman of Falls Church, Va., one brother, William Walter Overton of Cottage

REECE, Josephine Parris, 82, of 655 N. Spring Street, the wife of Risden P. Reece, died May 12 at Maryfield Nurshing Home in High
Point. She was born in Hillsborouogh to Dr. David C and Annie Parks Parris. She attended the Nash and Killock School in Hillsborough
and graduated in 1906 from Salem College. She did graduate work at the University of Tennessee and at Columbia University. For
many years Mrs. Reece was active in the Winston-Salemm Civic Music Association and was a member of the original board. She was
president of the James B. Gordon Chapter of the UDC for 16 years, also State Registrar 1936 and Second Vice-President 1946-47. She
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs.Horace H. Vance of Winston-
Salem; two sons Randolph H Reece of New York and Southport, CT, and Charles P Reece of North Wilkesboro; and two sisters, Mrs. R.
T. Upchurch of Henderson, and Mrs. S.M. Gattis of Winston-Salem. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" -- Pslm
