Surry Will Book 2:104a – 14 February 1786 - Deed of Sale from Andrew Swartz [Black] to Mary Elizabeth
Fisher and Catherine Fisher:
Know all men by these presents that I Andrew Swartz [Black] of Surry County & State of North Carolina,
Farmer for and in consideration of fifty pounds species me in hand paid by Mary Elizabeth Fisher &
Catherine Fisher of the same place this receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith
fully entirely satisfied have bargained sold set over and delivered & by these presents to bargain, sell set
over & delivered unto the said Mary Elizabeth Fisher & Catherine Fisher one certain tract or parcel of land
on containing of one hundred & fifty acres of land lying and being on the waters called tomahock adjoining
Phillip Stoltz line on the South side & adjoining Thomas Millsap line adjoining John Grum[Crum’s] line North
& thence a line east to the beginning South lime on Stoltzs line also all my horses, cattle and hogs and any
sheep to the only proper use and behoof of them the said Mary Elizabeth Fisher & Catherine Fisher and the
assigns which said land horses cattle and hogs and sheep against me and against all manner of persons,
laying any claims to the land horses, cattle & hogs & sheep I will warrant and defend forever. Witness my
hand this fourteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred
and eighty six.
