Stokes Deed of Gift 5:11:  Samuel Vest to his sons, Charles Vest, Obediah Vest and
Moses Vest:

Samuel Vest (1757-1841) to his sons, Charles Vest (1783-1860) married Catherine Vogler,
Obediah Vest
(b.1784) married Rachel McKnight and Moses Vest (b.1792).

This indenture made this 30th day of Novb. 1805, between
Samuel Vest of the County of Stokes and
State of NCarolina of the one part, And
Charles Vest, Obediah Vest, & Moses Vest sons of the said
Samuel Vest of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Samuel Vest, as will and for in
consideration, of the natural love and affection Which he hath & bequeath to the said Charles,
Obediah & Moses Vest his sons, also for the better maintenance & preferment of the said
Charles, Obediah & Moses Vest, hath given Granted, aliened enefeoffed & confirmed and by
these presents doth give grant alien  enefeoff,  and confirm unto the said Charl. Vest Obediah
Vest & Moses Vest, all that messauge, Tenement or tract of land, Whereon the said
Samuel Vest now living with all and singular the appurtenances, with the reversions
Remainders Rents, Issues, and profits thereof, and all the estate, Right, Title, interest
Trust property & demand, whatsoever. The said land lies in the County of Stokes &
is bounded as follows:  Beginning at a white oak, and runs north thirty seven chains &
four links to pointers, thence west fifty four chains to pointers, south thirty four chains
and four links to a White oak, thence East to the beginning, containing in the whole
two hundred acres, with every part and parcel thereof, and all deeds & writings touching
or concerning the said premises, now in the hands and custody the said Samuel Vest
of which he may get or come by without suit in law, To have to and to hold the said
Land & premises hereby Given and Granted, or Mentioned or intended to be Given & Granted
unto the said Charles Vest, Obediah Vest, and Moses Vest, their heirs and assigns, forever and
the said Samuel Vest for himself his heirs exrs. or adminr. doth covenant & grant to & with
the said Charl. Vest, Obediah Vest & Moses Vest theirs heirs and assigns, that he said Charles
Vest and he the said Obediah Vest, and he the said Moses Vest, them and their heirs shall &
Lawfully may from hence forth forever hereafter have hold occupy & enjoy, the said messauge
Tenement, Land herediments & premises hereby granted, or mentioned or intended so to be
with all the appurtenances free, clear and discharged of and from all former or other Gifts
Grants, Bargain or sales enfeoffs jointures dowers estate intail , rents & charges
exomarages of Rents and of and from all other titles, troubles Charges & incumberances, what-
sover had made done or suffered by him the said Samuel Vest his heirs executors or admr.
or any other person lawfully claiming to claim by from or under him or any of them
In witness whereof the said Samuel Vest hath herein known to set his hand and seal date above written.
