SEE WILL

John Linebach, Sr., his wife and seven children, arrived in the Wachovia tract on June 11, 1765,
a five week journey from Pennsylvania.   John Linebach, Sr. purchased 2,000 acres in the north
west corner of the Wachovia Tract. On 5 July 1765, John and his sons built a house on the
2,000 acre tract of land.

John Linebach Sr. wanted to move here and buy a tract of land, so his sons would have some
land when he died. However, on March 14, 1766, John Linebach Sr. died at his home.  He was
buried 2 days later on a hill above his home.  John Linebach wrote a will prior to his death and
in his will he wanted the 2,000 acre tract of land divided between his 5 younger sons.
John Linebach, Sr. and his wife Anna Catherina Riehm Linebach had the following children:

Elizabeth Linebach (1736-1821) m. Michael Ranke (1729-1813) lived in Bethania
Frederick Linebach (1737-1821) stayed in Pennsylvania
Maria Barbara Linebach (1739-1788) stayed in Pennsylvania
John Linebach Jr
. (1740- ) m. Catherina (mn unk)
Ludwig Linebach (1743-1800) m. Anna Barbara Lauer
Abraham Linebach (1744-1790) m. Anna Fidler
Benjamin Linebach (1746-1794) m. Christina Volk
Joseph Linebach (1748-1749) died at one year old
Anna Johanna Linebach (1750-1833) m. John Frederick Schaub, Jr. (1744-1803)
Joseph Linebach (1752-1824)
Anna Catherina Linebach (1755-1803) m. John Frederick Peter

The widow of John Linebach Sr. and their daughter, Anna Catherina Linebach moved to
Bethania in a new addition of Michael Ranke’s home.

On 26 June 1770, John Linebach’s 2,000 acre tract of land was divided between his five
younger sons, each receiving 400 acres.   These 5 young men all sold their tracts of land that
they received from their father’s estate. John’s son, Abraham Linebach stayed in this area
moving to the Lewisville community. John Linebach’s Sr.’s sons apparently did not have the
same vision that their father wanted for them.
