Jailor Dee Davis tenders his resignation as keeper of the County Hotel to take effect July 1st. Sheriff Kapp has not
yet named a seccessor. Several parties are mentioned in connection. Friend Davis resigns in order to give his full
time and attention to the practice of law. He will locate in Ashe or Alleghany county, probably the former.
Ex-Sheriff Jack Boyer will travel for the Southern Chemical Co., of this city, selling their fertilizers. His territory will
be this and surrounding counties.
