1819 Sept 4 - Stokes Co., NC - Will of Adam Geiger:

In the name of God Amen I Adam Geiger being old and of sound & perfect mind and memory
blessed in God do make this my last will in manner and form following. I will that all kitchen and
household furniture bedding & clothing besides her own bed & her own cattle which she now owns
shall belong to my daughter Gertraud for after my wifes decease she having lived with us without
pay But if my wife survives me, then all the above household furniture bedding
and clothing is to remain in & for her use & after her decease  it all belongs to my said daughter.
My home plantation containing three hundred and twenty five acres in deeds with all
the improvements I give to my dear wife Mary Margaret for & during her natural life but is she hath
departed this life before me or after her decease my will is that the said land
shall be sold by my executors or the survivor of them by public or private sale with power to the
Land & to the purchaser. The 102 acres of land granted to me and [Jacob]Petree in trust for the
Lutheran Society{Nazareth Lutheran Church] belongs to said Society & not to my private estate.
All other estate both real and personal not  here above devised shall likewise be sold by public
sale. All the proceeds of my estate on the sale thereof  shall be divided  in the following manner
my grand daughter Catherine Moser shall receive one twentieth part of the whole when she
is twenty one years old until which time her share shall be put on interest for her use if she does
not live that long her share go to my other estate  - the rest of the proceeds  after
deducting the above twentieth part shall be equally divided among my children or their heirs so
that the children of my daughter Christena shall have one equal share with my children then living
- I appoint my friends John Speas and Phillip Kiser executors of this my last will and testament & do
revoke all former wills by me made Sept. 4th 1819.
